Inscriptions verso (printed): Execution of Fred Underwood and George Derham, two of the parties who killed Sheriff J.H. Powers and blew up and robbed Clarksville Bank on February 5, 1902. Derham was arrested in Wichita Kas. Underwood was arrested in Evansville, Ind. Tried in Clarksville in the December term of court, 1902, and condemned to death. Sentenced to be hanged February 5, 1903. Execution stayed and an appeal taken to the supreme court, which affirmed decision of the lower court. Governor set June 19 for execution. June 18, Derham and Underwood both confessed to the crime and told in full detail all the facts connected with the murder and robbery. They thanked the officers and people for the kindness shown them. Underwood said the penalty was a just one, and he had no complaint to make.
