mount-recto (printed label) "In and Around Peking. A description of
views taken by Thos. Child. No. 121. Under the North wall of the City
and near the Lama Temple is this celebrated and ancient building;
which contains the tablets of that Sage, with others of his disciples.
It is built in the usual style of temple buildings; but contains no
idols. The groves of Cypress are said to be upwards of a thousand
years old."
