Inscribed in black ink on mount, R: B. 202. 30 \ Theatre di Marcello. Begun by Caesar, completed by Augustus B.C. \ 13 who named it after his nephew son of Octavia Twelve arches are new \ occupied by smiths and other artizans as workshops. The lower story is in \ the Doric, 2nd in the Doric + there was probably a 3rd in the Corinthean [sic] \ It is said to have accommodated 20000 spectators.
