Inscribed in black ink on mount, L and R: B. 36. Largo del Palazzo Reale—the finest square in Naples. This view \ shows the W. side which forms a semicircle. The steps of the church \ S. Francesco is just visible. The Equestrian Statues of Neapolitan Kings \ of Chas. III and Ferdinand I of Bourbon \ B. 34 The squares are still generally called Largo [underlined] though the more modern \ name piazza was introduced in 1860
