Inscribed in black ink on mount, L: B.144. House of the Faun so named from the bronze statuette of a \ dancing Faun formed here. It is the handsomest in Pompeii. The style \ of its decorations proves it to date 2nd cent B.C. It possessed 2 entrances \ and 2 atria
