"Exit To Death On Leyte" "One Jap made a run for it. There he lies
dead at the mouth of an enemy pillbox on Leyte Island in the
Philippines. Three American liberators, who cut him down with ready
rifles, warily watch the opening as a Coast Guard Combat Photographer
came by to make this graphic shot of Pacific islane warfare. Their job
was to make sure no more of Hirohito's little men were hiding inside."
