views taken by Thos. Child. No. 126. This fine building is to be seen
adjoining the Confucian Temple on the West. It was built by the
Emperor K'ien Lung more than one hundred years ago, and at certain
times in the year the Emperor is supposed to expound the Classics in
it. The whole building is surrounded by a marble pond, see No. 127."
