DescriptionContains oval cut gelatin silver reproductions of original 1855 portraits (probably daguerreotype or ambrotype) of all 92 members of the Harvard graduating class. On the opposite page is displayed the most recent portrait of each of the class members available in 1905 (the 50th year anniversary of graduation; of the original 92 men, 37 were still living). In most instances, only one image from later years is used, but there are examples of 2 or 3 images of individuals in maturity, sometimes with family members. At times, an image of a soldier of Civil War vintage serves as the most recent image of one who was presumably killed in the war. Printed index locates each of the individuals and notes whether living or deceased. Images are attached to heavy gray paper pages. Covers are red and leather covering on the spine is detached.
