DescriptionAlbum contains 12 gelatin silver or collodion POP images of the Winegrowers' Fête held in Vevey, Switzerland. These are predominantly images of performances in an open-air amphitheater by a group identified as "Gardener's Ballet." In addition there are many commercial views of the notable mountain peaks and glaciers of Switzerland, including the Matterhorn and the Wetterhorn. Several pages have been cut out and removed from the album. At the end of the album are 5 photographs taken in Marken, Holland. Of interest in an image of the Fuggerei, an early public housing project in Munich. The album is labeled on both the spine and the front cover with the names of the locations of Syria, Egypt, Greece, Pompeii, Amalfi, Swiss [sic] and Marken. Two color lithograph views by PZ (Photochrom Zurich) of Jerusalem introduce the album, suggesting that this may be one volume in a series. Album is in good condition, covered in green cloth and is identified by a sticker as "Ward's Album for unmounted photographs."
