DescriptionAn album of 378 uncaptioned snapshots, documenting a trip to Europe from June 24 to August 26, 1922, made by Miss Adelheid Zeller and some friends. Included are views on shipboard and in the cities of Paris, Rome, Venice, London, Cologne, Heidelberg, Lucerne and others. Album is in good condition, covered in blue cloth with design of Iris. However, the photographs on the last 12 pages are faded, probably due to improper processing. These last 12 pages are black paper, and may have been added to the dark brown page album. Some of the photos are missing, removed from the corners or torn out. Accompanying the album are two travel journals, with hand-written entries for each day, the first (June 24-August 26, 1922) corresponds to the views in the album while the second documents a trip to Europe made June 30-Sept.4, 1925. There are also several letters from the first trip, written on stationery from various hotels in Europe, some newspaper clippings of a feature column "Travelogue from Europe" by Charles Richardson, which describes travel during the same time period and to the same locales, other clippings from a Fayetteville (NY) newspaper about the Passion Play in Oberammergau in September 1922, and a list of clothing and travel supplies. Also included is Miss Zeller's parent's 1889 wedding invitation.
Inscriptions inside front cover (pencil): Adelheid B. Zeller, trip to Europe, June 1922
