To focus the face and soul of the new Germany, conceived in the stupor of total defeat and the shadow of existence under complete control, Magnum ranges the new Republic from the Rhineland in the West to the frontier of the Soviet Zone in the East. Western Europe has once again a Government of its own and the new State emerges from its swaddling clothes a problem child that may become Europe's Dead End Kid.
