Four year old Elefteria Tranopoulous the only child left in the Greek Village of Oxia - is presented with a pair of shoes by the United Nations Inter. Children's Emergency Fund

Oxia - Greek One-Child Village. [underlined] Elefteria's only playmate is this dog. Dressed in ragged clothes and with her hair cut short she happily paddles the dog sitting on a hay stag [sic] in the middle of the deserted houses, none of which has been destroyed, but some of which are falling down from neglect. The walls still bear bulgarian [sic] and greek [sic] communist inscriptions.
