TextLarry Gianettino makes dynamic, large color photographs of very small objects. He reexamines childhood icons, toys and other playthings less than an inch high by photographing them in extreme close-up, often against a background of intense, vibrant colors. Like portraits, some of the models are seen in profile, while others face the camera directly, making eye contact with the viewer. The effect is powerful: intimate yet disturbing.
