This is a family of four daughters, ages 9 through 15. Hadley is 11 years old and the third daughter. The Pierce family lives in Boston on Beacon Hill and spends the summer months at their home in Woods Hole, Massachusetts where this photo was taken. Hadley was playing a board game with her older sister, Leeds, when we arrived. I blended into the energy of the room and photographed what was happening. I was delighted that Hadley stayed perfectly centered in her own world, not editing herself in any way.
