The lunar area seen includes the \ equator and the south pole (on the horizon). This photograph overlaps \ slightly a comparable photograph taken by Orbiter II, and includes a \ large area shown in a similar photograph from Orbiter I. \ A photograph taken simultaneously by the 24 inch high resolu- \ tion lens shows details of the large central crater Tsiolkovsky and \ the immediate area. Tsiolkovsky is about 150 miles in diameter; it \ was named by Russian scientists.
