Overall: 35 x 21 x 6.3 cm
Gift of Manfred Heiting, 2008
DescriptionAlbum containing carte-de-visite and cabinet card photographs in a range of late 19th century processes, housed in pre-cut slots in tall-format album. Nearly all are portraits from studios in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and other cities in the Netherlands and appear to be members of the same family, in some cases, taken over an approximate 20 year time period (see, for example portrait of a man #6, 31, 43, 72). Of note are several photographs made in the studio of individuals posed with a bicycle and several military portraits. Ink inscriptions that were underneath the photographs have been defaced. Album, with several empty slots for photographs, is in good condition, covered in dark red velvet with Art Nouveau metal figure of a woman attached to the front.
