They clustered about us, and were eager to have their pictures taken. The mother in the background did not realize that she was in camera range.

Zulu Teen-agers have less pendulous figures than their mothers. They are also less shy and lots more articulate. A knowledge of the language would have been great help here at the Valley of a Thousand Hills, near Durban. Although tourists do visit once in a while, inhibitions of any sort don't gain a toehold from the youngsters.
