"GREEN DRAGONS OF NEW GUINEA"/
Sharp thorns in the side of the Japanese, the Navy's PT boats have fitted/ admirably in the Allied campaign to cut off and seize enemy strongholds in/ the south Pacific. Because of their small size and the comparatively minor/ demands they make in the line of installations, the torpedo boats can be/ based in the inlets and river mouths that abound in the tropic islands groups./ Screened by the overhanging trees and the camouflage they have added the men/ of the PT squadrons live in comparative comfort in bases and have have hewed out/ of the "gumbo" soil with the aid of the natives. Then at night they slip/
out for the sudden attacks which the name "Green Dragons" from the/ apprehensive Japanese. PT boats from these bases participated in the campaign/ which crumbled the Jap bastion at Lae./
