Inscriptions verso (typed label): A curious crowd surrounds Litvak and his aides as a day's shooting is plotted at Villefranche. Gendarme in foreground was one of several assigned to keep order. By week's end, they had become a regular part of the picture, busying themselves with odds and ends such as arranging chairs and holding coats for players while they were working in front of camera.
