DescriptionAlbum contains aerial photographs of areas of Reims, Tours and the Loire Valley France made by the 17th Photo Section of the AEF, US Army in 1918. Album belonged to Harry K. Ketcham, a graduate of the USA School of Aerial Photography, who probably made these photos, and who is included in many of the snapshots. Some of the arial images appear to be copy photos. The snapshots were taken in the area of Nice, Versailles le bas and Langre France and include scenes of village life and images of individual and groups of soldiers. Of note is an image of an unidentified soldier with his aerial camera posed on the steps of a plane (#85). Many of the photographs are loose from their corners, some later attempt to secure images with cellophane tape is evident. Many images are captioned in white ink on the black pages, however, last 15 pages of snapshots are all uncaptioned. Album is black fabric with hole punched binding.
