Entry 550 in Mackay's notebook (located in library): Tiny ferrotype of Abe Lincoln from Brady negative taken Feb. 9, 1854. Given by Lincoln to Mrs. [?]olsom who died in 1944 at the age of 96 years. As a child Lincoln held her on his knee on several occasions, and gave her this little tintype as a souvenir on one of these occasions. Placed in miniature gutta percha case with lovely little scene on cover. From Rene Thill, Milwaukee, Wis. Asked me $22.50, but accepted $15.50. Very valuable.
