DescriptionBlack, string-bound album with snapshots and some studio portraits and "photo booth" images. The images are often trimmed and attached with glue or cellophane tape to black paper pages and seemed to be arranged somewhat randomly, i.e. images dated 1946-47 mixed in with the majority of ca. 1925 images.
These document a young man (several are inscribed to "Walter") and his family and friends and include interiors as well as photos made in the yard around home. There are many photos that include small groups of young men, often in bathing suits as well as an interesting series scattered throughout the pages of different young men gazing into a mirror mounted on a bureau.
Of special note are the images on the last 15 pages of the album, a sort of gallery of individual men dressed as women. These include formal studio shots and many snapshots of men in wigs and evening gowns, often theatrical in nature or of an exaggerated "vamp" pose or character ("Carmen Miranda"). There is also a commercial photo of "Merry Pickford, the Male Sally Rand" with ostrich fans.
Album is in fair condition, several of the back pages have separated and the album lacks a back cover.
