The Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC), at a distance of about 60 kpc/ is the second-closest galaxy to the Milky Way System. It is/ about 4 times less massive than the Large Cloud, but still/ contains a large number of globurlar clusters on this phoot, NHC 362/ (top left) and 47 Tucanae (right edge) belong to the Galaxy/ and are among the brghtest in the sky. The brightest star/ (in upper right corner) in ) Tucanae, visual magnitude 6m./
