APOLLO 8 EARTH VIEW-----This photograph of the earth was taken/ from the Apollo spacecraft while it was in earth orbit. Visible/ is nearly the entire southeastern United States and Caribbean/ Sea area. The U.S. coastline from Chesapeake Bay to the Florida/ peninsula can be seen. The Bahamas and the Islands of Cuba,/ Jamaica, Hispiniola and Puerto Rico extend across the Cari-/bbean. The light blue of the shallow Bahama banks contrasting/ sharply with the darker hue of the deeper water, especially/ in the Tongue of the Ocean area.
