Inscriptions Type printed with negative BC: (Moon Progress) 2/63 6) MOCK MOON VOYAGE: Three crewmen go through the motions of an earth to moon flight \ aboard a Lunar Space Simulator in Baltimore. Though they are earthbound, the spacemen experience all the rigors \ of an actual moon flight except weightlessness and vibration during their seven-day "trip." They must \ "rendezvous" with another space craft in orbit, an operation considered crucial to a successful moon landing. \ As the crew captain, navigator and engineer "travel," an analogue computer feeds them problems (and their \ mistakes) encountered in orbit, in docking with the mother ship, and in the blazing re-entry period. The \ mock moon capsule is run by the Martin-Marietta Company for NASA Credit: Elliott Erwitt © 1963 MAGNUM Photos
