Safely earthbound in Baltimore, this \ orbital rendezvous simulator trains spacemen in one of the most crucial and difficult operations of a moon \ landing. Once the moon has been explored, astronauts climb aboard the "bug" located atop their lunar landing \ vehicle, blast off and connect at a pinpoint in space with the mother ship at a speed of 5,000 m. p .h. \ Credit: Elliott Erwitt © 1963 MAGNUM Photos
