Inscriptions typed on applied label affixed to verso, LC: (PMI) / S-5238 \ Regions of the United States - the Southeast \ 1. As its name suggests, the state of Louisiana was ori- \ ginally settled by the French. A French patois is still \ spoken by many of the inhabitants, and on the spires of \ the old Cathedral of St. Louis, in the state's largest \ city, New Orleans, the Cross of Lorraine is still to \ be seen. New Orleans is a great U.S. port for South \ American trade, made busier than ever by the war. [sideways]
