Inscriptions typed on applied label affixed to verso, OA: "PORTRAIT OF AMERICA" - No. 27 [underlined] \ SHRINES OF THE U.S. \ More than 500,000 visitors in a single year have visited Mount \ Vernon, the home of George Washington, first President of the \ United States. The house was built by Washington's brother, \ Lawrence, in 1743, but later was renovated and enlarged by \ George Washington. Fourteen miles from the city of Washington, \ the house is of the Georgian style, with a broad-pillared \ portico overlooking the Potomac River. Restored and maintained \ privately by the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association, the oldest \ patriotic association of women in the U.S., the house still has \ the furniture, books, paintings, and other accessories of Wash- \ ington's day. 17357-PWW \ NOT FOR USE IN WESTERN HEMISPHERE \ APPROVED BY APPROPRIATE U.S. AUTHORITY
