Kolendo, Sakhalin Island

The town of Kolendo has been uninhabited since an earthquake on 29th March 1995 when the local government deemed the town unsafe for habitation and relocated all its residents to neigbouring towns and villages. Stripped of all

furniture, scrap metal and glass, the empty apartment blocks await the bulldozers.
