Train station, Chita
In 1825 Chita made Russian history when 82 of the Decembrists who tried unsuccessfully to overthrow the Tsar in St Petersburg were exiled here. The Decembrists became heroes in Soviet lore, hailed as the first revolutionaries.
An elderly passenger is transferred from the train to a waiting car.
