George Putra, Gorchakov School, Pavlovsk

Motherland

George Putra is a student at the experimental Gorchakov School for gifted children. The school was established in 1999 as a modern version of the Lycee, Russia's most famous educational institution. Its historic graduates include Alexander Pushkin and Alexander II's Lord Chancellor, Alexander Gorchakov. The school is situated in the premises of the Bryullov family dacha in Pavlovsk, previously used as a shelter for poor but gifted children. Students in the modern school are mainly from the underprivileged families of Russian intelligentsia and their education is provided free of charge.
