Elsa, Nazran, Ingushetia
Elsa stands outside the front door to the one-room dwelling she shares with her father, mother, and two brothers in the Tanzila Settlement for internally displaced people. The family fled Grozny after the start of the second war in Chechnya.
Her father is a trained anaesthetist but in Ingushetia can only find work in a factory tanning cattle hides. Elsa attends a local school.
