School band, Lenin Memorial Museum, Ulyanovsk

Vladimir Ilyich Lenin was born in the town of Simbirsk on 22nd April 1870. The town was later renamed Ulyanovsk in his honour, after his family name Ulyanov. Here a school band marches past the Lenin Memorial Museum, built around the original

wooden house where Lenin was born and raised.
