[verso of images not available at time of cataloging]
recto, accompanying slip of paper (printed): Leo A. Greene (born 7-1908, died 5-
1954) bought this locket at the end of 1947 for his wife Marion (born 1- 1908, died 1-1985). In January 1948, middle daughter Lois graduated from elementary school as graduations were twice a year then.
William Metz, father of Marion, and photographer, took a photo of the Greene girls in Jan. 1948; Lois is in her graduation dress. Joyce is 9; Lois is 13; Carole is 16. He made a large photo small enough to fit in his daughter's locket. Leo's picture is on the other side of the locket. To reduce a photo without distortion in those days of photography was interesting.
Marion's initials, MG (Marion Greene) are on the front of this 14k gold locket. She never changed the photos inside even when her daughters were getting older.
