TextLilly Lulay made this work using a snapshot she collected at a flea market. She removed the human figure with a razor blade, and in its place inserted a grid of colored squares that resembles the digital color palettes common to computer imaging applications. Her blatant substitution of pixels for people raises the question of whether human memory adheres to bytes as easily as it does to paper.
