Inscriptions recto (printed): (MI5) MILWAUKEE, WIS., Sept. 7 -- SHOWING THEIR MANNERS -- Police stood / grimly by today as Negro open housing demonstrators sat-in, shouted / and performed various acts of vandalism, in the office of Mayor Henry / Maier. Maier had ordered police to let the youths do what they wanted / to "show the nation their bad manners." Shouting, at right, is a Milwaukee Youth Council leader, Prentice McKinney, who has been de- / scribed by Council adviser Father James Groppi, as the "Stokely / Carmichael of Milwaukee".
