The successive campaigns through France, Belgium, / Holland and Germany will long be remembered by the millions / of veterans who served in Europe during World War II. Many / changes have taken place abroad, since the cessation of / hostilities; and Army cameramen have revisited some of these / landmarks to show them as they appear today. The photographers / have duplicated a series of ten famous combat shots made in / St. Lo, France; Bastogne, Belgium and Frankfurt and Cologne, / Germany. / SC 340441. AS IT LOOKS TODAY. [underlined] St. Lo, France, one of / the great battlegrounds in the European, was almost completely / levelled. Since the war, its citizens have done a thorough / job of clearing the debris and building over the innumerable / ruins. The spire of the town's cathedral was removed for / safety reasons.
