Inscriptions verso (applied printed label in black ink): 1 In the winter of 1987, the opposition parties united in an attempt to oust Lt. Gen. Hussain
Mohammed ERshad. A siege of Dhaka city was
planned for the 10th November. People were to
come from all over the country and paralyse the
capital. The government retaliated by cutting
off transport to the city . On the day itself,
section 144 was announced, which prevents a
gathering of over four people. People gathered
that winter morning in ones and twos in
Motijheel in a street that is normally the
busiest in the city.
