Inscriptions Written in ink on verso:"Ball & spear" highlight of the fair. This was seen in many lights: this wasa cloudy misty day. N.Y. World's Fair taken by someone in 1939 or 1940. Mr. & Mrs. A. Thomas Nelson saw the Fair in Sept. of 1940. See the 3x3 7/8 print of the fountains playing at night & the 3x3 7/8 print of the large statue for further information. May have been taken by A.T. on a misty Sept. morning as there is a negative scarcely showingthe shaft & ball. They always said A.T. could get what wasn't there. He did it by mixing special developer for the print & choosing well the paper to use.
