DescriptionAlbum containing 43 photographs mounted on pages with descriptive text, which illustrate the activities of the average operational mission conducted by blimps of the U.S. Navy during World War II. Produced by Airship Squardon 24, which was commanded by Lt. Comdr. H.B. Van Gorder, the operations include escort missions, shepherding straying ships in a squadron and watching for U-boat attacks. Five navy photographers are identified on the first page and credited with all 43 images, although individual works are not credited.
