DescriptionBook of albumen silver prints; albumenized salted paper prints. The cover consists of green calf leather on the corners and along the length of the binding side. The remainder of the cover is of a brown textured cloth. A line of gilding demarcates edges of the leather and the fabric. The title of the book is emossed in gold, centerd on the cloth cover. The green leather continues around the spine, with "THE PHOTOGRAPHIC ALBUM." embossed near the top, and the year 1857 near the base. The back cover matches the front, including the title.

The inside of the front cover includes a label identifying this volume as belonging to Henry T. Wood, who is also featured in the book. Each photograph includes a title page, with facing pages that include information concerning locations, photographic conditions and image capture information, and usually a quotation deemed pertinent by the maker. Most pages include a sheet of tissue seperating the image page from the text page.

This book was put out by the Photographic Society Club, with members of the Photographic Exchange Club.
