TextNikon won the Camera Grand Prix in 1984 for the FA, the world's first camera to use a micro-processor for exposure calculation. Nikon called its new system AMP (Automatic Multi-Pattern). The FA could be used in four modes: Program, Shutter-preferred automatic, Aperture-preferred automatic, or Manual. Most modern DSLRs use some variation of this system for exposure calculation.
