Inscriptions Transcribed on backing board: This print is made on gelatin coated paper by contact with a bleached negative stained with aniline dye. The plain gelatin coated paper is run through a wringer with the stained negative and both left in contact for ten minutes and then pulled apart when it will be found that the bleached negative has given up its dye to the plain gelatin paper. Had this method been discovered before the Woodburytype, there would have been no field for the latter. Imbibition dye printing by Fred E. Ives Jan 21-16 Stephen Horgan Collection.
