Entry 519 in Mackay's notebook (located in library): Beautiful half-plate scenic ambrotype taken on ruby glass, from an engraving of an old classical Greek or Roman scene, possibly the Acropolis of Athens, or the Parthenon. The old engraving which was ambrotyped is taken from an old painting by Thomas Cole, engraver was James Miller (6.50).
