Inscriptions Entry 689 in Mackay's notebook (located in library): Beautiful half-plate dag, in open leather frame, taken from a painting, showing rider on large white horse. He holds an unconscious or sleeping woman. Above are three flying female figures, angels or spirits, and a threatening flying male figure. Might be illustration or [?] of Milton’s Paradise Lost.
