Inscriptions Entry 412 in Mackay's notebook (located in library): Very rare daguerreotype scene of an early New England train wreck. Shows two old wooden trains half demolished, one telescoped over the other. Elaborate bells, huge smokestack. Crowd of people in high hats watching. Large litter of wreckage and whole side of one car with window opening in foreground. Not perfect condition, but very unusual. Sent from Sargentville, Maine. But found in attic of old Pawtucket, R.I. home, inherited from a great aunt. This wreck dag. was found in an old home in Pawtucket, R.I. (5.00 +1.00 for case)
