Entry 747 in Mackay's notebook (located in library): Ambrotype of Wm. Van Campen, Uncle of Mrs. Mamie B. Grubb, 271 Morton St., Ashland, Oregon. He was an inventor. Made one of earliest Washing Machines, and wooden one run by hand, a rocker type. He was also a veteran of Civil War. His father, Mrs. Grubbs, grandfather was killed in Civil War. (1.00)
