Entry 393 in Mackay's notebook (located in library): Adorable daguerreotype of pair of girl twins taken by Wm C. North, Cleveland O. Taken on real silver plate. Scratched on back “Darling-Pet”. Dressed alike but not identical twins. In back of case is written “Cleveland, 11 yrs, 1856.” They were born in 1845. Put in fine gutta percha case showing “group at the Spinet.” Quaint little lady plays spinet. Open music has perfect detail even to tiny notes. One quaint man turns page, other stands leaning on quaint spinet chair watching his cello leaning against old Victorian chair. Music & bow on floor. Daguerreotype (.75), case (3.00) total (3.75)
