Entry 187 in Mackay's notebook (located in library): Small gutta percha case holding two daguerreotypes-man & wife. Man in very high silk hat is only photo taken in profile in my collection so far. Lady wears bonnet and fur over shoulders—my only daguerreotype with fur. Couple unknown, but was probably taken Feb. 23, ’54, since Feb. 23rd 254.61 is written in case. 254 may mean Feb. ’54. (1.00)
