Entry 598 in Mackay's notebook (located in library): 3 ¼ x 3 ¾ hard rubber case “Deer & Pine Tree design by Smith, like #445. Mended nicely. Cost $.50 & postage from Emerson, Phila. Contains nice ambrotype of little girl with huge old doll, same child as in #568 with father & mother. Ambrotype 35 cents. Entire cost 1.00. Worth about 2.50 or 3.00.
